Partridge Chantecler Heritage Chickens

The Partridge Chentecler is a dual purpose, heritage breed chicken. Developed right here in Alberta, the breed was accepted into the Standard in 1935. Bred specifically to thrive in our northern climate, the Partridge Chantecler is known for being extremely cold hardy and an excellent winter layer. In addition to laying a very respectable number of eggs per year under natural light conditions, the Partridge Chantecler is a large bird known for their flavourful meat. As a heritage breed, the hens regularly brood and raise chicks.

We are pleased to have added a trio of Partridge Chanteclers to our farm in May 2012, and are enjoying them very much.
